Beware not all Smoked Salmon is Scottish!
We have posted this notice to warn our site visitors that there is a vast difference between the Smoked Salmon products you see on web sites or on the shelf. Consumer law states that a product should be labelled correctly to portray exactly what is in the package. Some unscrupulous producers are loading the market with cheap Norwegian or even Polish produce by calling it Scottish Smoked Salmon Only the genuine article can be called Smoked Scottish Salmon By cleverly rearranging the wording, Salmon of diverse origin can be passed off as genuine Scottish produce. They are not breaking the law by doing this but they are manipulating the market by the wording they use. Most of us would not have a clue what the difference is! Quite simply, a company can bring cheap Salmon from anywhere in the world and as long as it is smoked in Scotland they can label it Scottish Smoked Salmon it is however NOT, Smoked Scottish Salmon So the watch word here is buyer beware not everything you see on the internet or in the supermarket is what it appears. You may see extremely cheap deals as you browse, you may not even care, if all you want is cheap goods. However Scottish Fresh Catch GUARENTEE that everything they sell is the real deal! Scottish Produce, raised in Scottish waters, smoked using traditional Scottish methods and delivered to your door right out of our brick kilns! The only thing our Smoked Scottish Salmon doesnt have is a kilt! |
